Subject: Mounted Police
Unit
Dear Sirs and Madam:
I
recently have had the pleasure of encountering the KW Mounted Police Unit riding
their beautiful horses around the neighborhood. Our home is across
from HOB School, and I have to think that the children must
enjoy seeing the horses as much as I do; and that getting to know our officers
as equastrians, familiar with, and obviously fond of animals is
an image of law enforcement that has to be beneficial to the
Department. It says "serve and protect" instead of "search and
arrest." They invite and promote communication between the citizens
and the police which is friendly and educational. Please, please, keep the
mounties coming....it's a lovely sound on our streets, like that of ice cream
trucks, it takes me back to a happier and simpler time.
With
best regards,
