Park Police
Patrol
Chief Mauldin,
Thank you for the stepped up patrols in the park. We have seen more squad cars than normal recently.
Last night before sunset two officers on horses came through the park. Not only was their presence welcome, but the horses really engaged the kids. Even the older teens (the ones who are usually loud and obnoxious) came over to pet the horses. Some of the older kids held younger kids up to pet the horses. The officers (and horses) were very patient and answered the kids questions.
It was a great example of officers not only patrolling, but interacting with and engaging the kids.
Thanks!
